A report-to-presentation workflow is different from summarization. A good presentation does not need to reproduce every section of the source document. It needs to identify what the audience actually needs to understand.

Once Claude has produced the first draft, avoid telling it simply to “make the presentation better.” That instruction is too subjective.

Instead, diagnose the specific problem with the slide and ask Claude to make a bounded change.

Useful revision requests include:

• shorten an overloaded slide;

How to Export Claude Slides

Anthropic says Claude Slides can be exported for use outside Claude. Its current Claude product material lists presentation export options including Google Slides, PPTX and PDF, while Anthropic’s September 16 launch announcement specifically describes downloading presentations as PowerPoint or PDF.

Because Claude Slides is still in beta, the exact export options visible in your account may vary during rollout.

What to Check Before You Present a Claude Slides Deck

Claude Slides can reduce drafting time, but the person using the presentation still needs to verify that the deck is accurate, appropriate and usable.

Do not confuse visual polish with accuracy

A professional-looking slide can still contain a wrong figure or misleading conclusion. The more convincing a generated presentation looks, the easier it can be to forget that the underlying claims still need verification.

For important business, academic or public-facing presentations, treat source checking as a separate stage of the workflow rather than asking the same AI generation pass to certify itself.

Claude Slides Problems and Limitations

Claude Slides is new and in beta, so some limitations will be temporary. Others are general limitations of using generative AI for presentation work.

Claude Slides is not showing

If you cannot find Claude Slides, first consider rollout and account availability. Anthropic announced a gradual rollout of its new Claude experience beginning with Pro and Max plans, and Enterprise access may depend on administrator settings.

That means a missing feature does not automatically indicate that something is wrong with your browser or account.

The deck is too generic

This usually means the prompt lacks audience, context, source material or a concrete desired outcome. Add those details before asking Claude to redesign everything.

The slides contain too much text

Tell Claude to separate what belongs on the screen from what belongs in speaker notes. Give each slide one primary takeaway and remove background information that does not help the audience make the intended decision.

The design looks inconsistent

Give Claude clearer constraints: approved colors, typography, spacing approach, reference materials, required elements and elements that must not be changed. Then review the result against the actual brand guide rather than assuming visual similarity means compliance.

The presentation includes questionable facts

Return to the source material. Ask Claude to map each claim to the supplied evidence and label unsupported statements. Then perform the important verification yourself.

The exported file looks different

Formatting can change between presentation environments. Reopen the exported file and inspect each slide. Pay particular attention to fonts, line breaks, object positions, charts, images, links and anything close to a slide edge.

Connected data may not mean current data

If Claude uses information from connected apps or files, confirm the source and date. A connected workflow can make retrieval easier, but it does not remove the need to make sure you are using the correct version of the information.

When Is Claude Slides Worth Using?

Claude Slides is most useful when the hard part is turning existing information into a coherent first draft.

The highest-value workflow is not “AI does the presentation.” It is a division of work.

Let Claude handle:

• organizing messy inputs;
• suggesting a first narrative;
• drafting slide titles;
• condensing long source material;
• reformatting information;
• generating alternative structures; and
• making bounded revisions.

Keep human responsibility for:

• what the audience actually needs;
• whether a claim is true;
• whether a chart is fair and accurate;
• what confidential information can be used;
• brand and organizational requirements;
• which recommendation should be made; and
• whether the final deck is ready to present.
