PNG to JPG
Convert a PNG to a widely supported photo format. If the PNG contains transparency, set a background color first because JPG cannot keep transparent pixels.
JPG to PNG
Change a JPEG into PNG when an app requires a PNG file. Converting does not restore detail already lost in the original JPEG.
WebP to JPG
Make a static WebP image easier to use in software that expects JPEG files. Review the output background if the original WebP was transparent.
WebP to PNG
Export a static WebP as PNG for compatible editing workflows. Transparency can be retained, but any detail lost in an earlier lossy export cannot be recovered.

Which image format should you choose?
JPG / JPEG
Useful for photos and common upload requirements. It does not support transparent backgrounds and uses lossy compression.
PNG
Useful for screenshots, sharp-edged graphics and transparent images. PNG exports are lossless, but the resulting file can be larger.
WebP
Useful for websites and supported design workflows. WebP supports transparency and can create smaller files, depending on the source and quality setting.
Quick decision: Need an opaque photograph? Try JPG. Need transparency or a lossless export? Choose PNG. Optimizing a supported website image? Compare a WebP result with your original and keep the version that suits your needs.
Common image conversion problems
My transparent background turned solid.
JPG does not support transparency. Choose the background color in the converter before exporting to JPG, or use PNG or WebP to keep transparent areas.
Why is my converted file larger?
Output size depends on the image content, source compression and selected format. PNG is often larger for photos, and converting a heavily compressed source may increase file size.
The file would not convert.
Check that it is a valid, static JPG, PNG or WebP file. Corrupt images, unsupported image types, oversized files and browser memory limits can prevent conversion. Renaming a file extension does not change its actual format.
Can I convert an animated WebP?
This converter is for still images only. An animated file may produce only one frame in a browser-based image export; use a dedicated animation tool if you need to retain motion.

Are my images uploaded for conversion?
No. The conversion code processes the selected images locally in your browser. Normal website and analytics requests are separate from the image-conversion process.

Does converting a JPG to PNG improve its quality?
No. PNG can avoid adding further JPEG compression during this export, but it cannot recreate detail already lost in the source file.
Will the image dimensions change?
The converter uses the decoded image dimensions and does not intentionally resize the picture. If you need a specific width or height, use the image resizer instead.
