Google AI Mode points and miles searches can now help you find supported flights and hotels using rewards instead of looking only at cash prices. Tell AI Mode where you want to go, when you want to travel, and which airline or hotel rewards program you have in mind, and it can show eligible options with current points or miles rates supplied through supported partners.
The useful part is not simply seeing another price. It is being able to describe the trip conversationally, refine the search, compare relevant reward options, and then continue to the loyalty partner when you are ready to verify and redeem.
This guide shows you how the feature works, which rewards programs Google announced at launch, copy-ready prompts for flights and hotels, what to check before redeeming anything, and what to do when your loyalty program does not appear.
Quick answer: Can Google AI Mode find flights and hotels with points or miles?
Yes, for supported rewards programs. Ask AI Mode for a flight or hotel, give it your dates and destination, and specify the loyalty program whose points or miles you want to use. Google says AI Mode can display the current rewards cost using data from participating partners.
AI Mode does not replace the final loyalty-program redemption step. When you choose an option, you follow the partner link and complete the rewards redemption there.
What Changed With Google AI Mode Points and Miles?
Google AI Mode could already help with travel research, flight comparisons, hotel discovery, and itinerary planning. The August 27 travel update added a more specific rewards capability: AI Mode can now display the cost of supported flights and hotels in points or miles.
That matters because a traveler with an existing loyalty balance may care about a completely different question from someone shopping only with cash.
Instead of asking:
Find nonstop flights from Atlanta to Miami from October 9 to October 12.
You can make the rewards currency part of the request:
Find nonstop flights from Atlanta to Miami from October 9 to October 12 using my American Airlines miles. Show the current miles required for the matching options.
The D24 Points & Miles Workflow
The simplest way to avoid treating an AI result as the final booking answer is to use a repeatable six-step process:
1. Start with a rewards program you actually have
Points and miles are not interchangeable currencies. If you have American Airlines miles, ask about American Airlines miles. If you have Hilton points, name Hilton. The more clearly you identify the program, the easier it is for AI Mode to understand which rewards rate you want.
2. Give AI Mode the basic trip
Include the origin and destination for flights, or the city or area for hotels. Add your dates and any essential conditions.
3. Refine before you choose
Use follow-up questions to remove options you would never book. That may include nonstop flights, a reasonable departure window, a specific neighborhood, a hotel type, or a different set of dates.
4. Review the displayed rewards cost
Check that the result actually matches your trip. A low points figure is not useful if it belongs to the wrong date, cabin, hotel, airport, or itinerary.
5. Open the loyalty partner
Google says the final redemption is completed on the partner site. Use that step to confirm the live award details before committing your rewards.
6. Redeem only after the important details match
Award inventory and travel details can change. Treat the partner’s current redemption page as the final checkpoint.
How to Find Award Flights With Google AI Mode
For flights, your prompt should tell AI Mode four things first: route, dates, rewards program, and any essential flight constraint.
Google used an Atlanta-to-Miami American Airlines example when introducing the feature. A practical version of that workflow looks like this:
I want to fly from Atlanta to Miami from October 9 to October 12 using my American Airlines miles. Find nonstop options and show the current miles required where supported.
Then refine the results instead of rebuilding the search from scratch.
Remove any flights departing before 8 a.m. and compare the remaining options by miles required, departure time, arrival time and total travel duration.
Information worth including in a flight request
- Departure airport or city
- Destination airport or city
- Travel dates
- Airline rewards program
- Nonstop or connection preference
- Departure or arrival time when important
- Cabin preference when relevant and available
- Nearby airports you are willing to consider
If your main goal is watching cash fares rather than spending rewards, use our separate guide to Google AI Mode flight price tracking. That workflow focuses on setting up price monitoring and email alerts rather than award-rate discovery.
How to Find Hotels With Points in Google AI Mode
Hotel searches work on the same basic principle. Tell AI Mode where you are staying, your dates, and the hotel rewards program you want to use.
Find Hilton hotel options in Chicago from November 6 to November 9 and show the current points required per night where supported.
If the first results are too broad, add the conditions that affect whether you would realistically stay there.
Focus on options near downtown Chicago. Compare the points required, guest rating, location and the room details shown for my dates. Do not include properties outside the area.
Check the whole stay, not only one attractive number
Before you assume the displayed points rate represents your full trip, verify what the figure applies to. Confirm the dates, number of nights, room type, total rewards requirement, and any taxes, fees, or other conditions presented by the loyalty partner.
Google also introduced a separate hotel-booking capability in AI Mode for supported U.S. users and participating booking partners. That is a different workflow from redeeming hotel points. See our Google AI Mode hotel booking guide for the cash-booking flow and its current availability.
Which Airline and Hotel Rewards Programs Work?
At launch on August 27, Google named a small initial group of rewards partners and another group it said would be added in the coming weeks.

8 Google AI Mode Points and Miles Prompts You Can Copy
Good travel prompts are specific enough to define the decision without becoming unnecessarily complicated. Replace the bracketed details with your trip.
1. Find a basic award flight
Find round-trip flights from [origin] to [destination] from [departure date] to [return date] using my [airline rewards program] miles. Show the current miles required for matching options where supported.
2. Prioritize nonstop flights
Find nonstop flights from [origin] to [destination] for [dates] using my [rewards program] miles. Compare the options by miles required, departure time, arrival time and travel duration.
3. Try flexible dates
I want to travel from [origin] to [destination] for about [number] days around [date range] using my [rewards program] miles. Compare nearby dates and show useful award options where supported.
4. Check nearby airports
Search award flights from [origin area] to [destination area] for [dates] using my [rewards program] miles. Include practical nearby airports and compare the current miles required and total travel time.
5. Find a hotel with points
Find [hotel rewards program] properties in [destination] from [check-in date] to [check-out date]. Show the current points required for matching stays where supported.
6. Narrow the hotel location
Using my [hotel rewards program] points, find hotels in [destination] for [dates] within [area or neighborhood]. Compare the points required, location and guest rating for the strongest options.
7. Recheck an existing result
Recheck these options for my exact dates and summarize the current points or miles required, itinerary or room details, and the partner I need to use to verify the redemption.
8. Compare rewards and cash options without making the decision for you
For this same trip, show the current supported rewards rate and comparable cash options separately. Keep the dates, route or hotel, and major trip details consistent so I can review both.
Before You Redeem: Verify These 8 Things
AI Mode can reduce the work of finding possibilities, but your points or miles may be difficult to replace. Verification matters more than speed at the final step.
For the rest of your itinerary, our AI Trip Planner Checklist covers ten broader checks worth making before you trust an AI-generated travel plan enough to book.
Can You Compare Google AI Mode Points With Cash Prices?
You can use AI Mode to gather both types of information, but avoid asking the AI to make an unsupported financial judgment about what your rewards are “worth.”
Rewards question
Ask for the current supported points or miles rate for the itinerary or hotel you are considering.
Cash question
Ask for comparable current cash options with the same dates and major trip conditions.
Then review the two options using your own circumstances. Factors such as how many rewards you have, whether you need them for another trip, taxes and fees, cancellation flexibility, and award availability can all affect the decision.
What Google AI Mode Points and Miles Cannot Replace
This feature removes some search friction, but it is not a universal award-travel engine.
- Not every loyalty program is supported. Google launched with a limited partner group.
- Displayed availability can change. A rewards option is not reserved merely because AI Mode showed it.
- The partner controls redemption. Final booking takes place through the participating loyalty partner.
- You still need to inspect trip details. Dates, cabins, rooms, airports, fees and conditions matter.
- Availability differs by location and account experience. AI Mode itself and individual features can have geographic or account limitations.
- It does not eliminate the loyalty website. The partner page remains an important final verification point.
The strongest way to think about the feature is as a conversational discovery layer for supported reward travel, not a replacement for every airline and hotel loyalty system.
Why Isn’t My Loyalty Program Showing in AI Mode?
If you ask for points or miles and do not get the expected reward results, work through these checks instead of repeatedly rewriting the same prompt.
If Google has not integrated the program, prompt changes are unlikely to create a rewards rate that the partner does not provide.
Replace a vague request such as “use my points” with the actual airline or hotel program.
Include exact dates or a clear date range so AI Mode has a concrete trip to search.
Check Google’s current AI Mode availability documentation if the feature itself is missing.
A supported loyalty program does not guarantee that every route, hotel or date will have a redeemable reward option.
AI Mode is actively evolving. Focus on the task—asking for the rewards rate—rather than expecting every button or card to look exactly like an older screenshot.
When Is Google AI Mode Most Useful for Award Travel?
Frequent travelers with one or two main loyalty programs
Naming the program directly can make AI Mode a faster starting point than repeatedly building similar travel searches from scratch.
Business travelers with strict schedules
You can combine the rewards request with arrival deadlines, nonstop preferences, or departure windows instead of considering an award price without the schedule context.
Families planning around fixed school or vacation dates
When dates are not flexible, asking for the reward options that actually fit those dates can reduce irrelevant comparisons.
Travelers deciding between a flight redemption and hotel redemption
If supported programs cover both parts of your trip, AI Mode can help you collect the information you need before deciding where you want to use your existing rewards.
Travelers with flexible dates
Conversational follow-ups are useful when you can shift the trip and want to explore other dates without starting an entirely new planning process each time.
Google AI Mode Points and Miles vs. Regular Loyalty-Site Search
| Task | Google AI Mode | Loyalty partner site |
|---|---|---|
| Describe a complicated trip conversationally | Strong fit | Depends on partner interface |
| See supported points or miles rates | Yes, where supported | Yes for its own program |
| Refine with natural-language follow-ups | Yes | Usually filter-based |
| Verify final live award availability | Useful for discovery | Final checkpoint |
| Complete the rewards redemption | Links you onward | Yes |
| Access every loyalty program | No | Its own program |
You do not need to choose one tool forever. A practical workflow is to use AI Mode to narrow a complicated trip, then use the loyalty partner to verify and complete the reward booking.
Google AI Mode Points and Miles FAQs
Can Google AI Mode find flights using miles?
Yes, when the airline rewards program is supported. Give AI Mode your route, travel dates, loyalty program and relevant flight preferences, then ask to see the miles required for matching options.
Can Google AI Mode find hotels using points?
Yes, for supported hotel loyalty partners. Tell AI Mode where and when you are staying and name the rewards program whose points you want to use.
Which rewards programs did Google support at launch?
Google announced initial support for Alaska Airlines/Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Choice Hotels International, Hilton and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. It also announced Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM Airlines and Lufthansa Group as additions expected in the following weeks.
Does AI Mode redeem my airline miles for me?
No. Google’s announcement says you follow the link to the partner site and complete the rewards redemption there.
Does AI Mode guarantee award availability?
Do not treat an AI result as a permanent reservation. Verify current award availability and the final rewards requirement with the loyalty partner before redeeming.
Are Google AI Mode points and miles searches available worldwide?
Google describes viewing points and miles rates as available in supported AI Mode locations and languages. Its August 27 announcement also notes that some depicted features may not be available to users in European Economic Area countries and territories. AI Mode availability can also vary by country, language and account.
Why can’t I see my airline or hotel rewards program?
The most likely reasons are that the program is not currently integrated, there is no matching reward inventory for your request, your prompt does not identify the loyalty program clearly, or the relevant feature is not available in your current AI Mode experience.
Should I verify the points or miles price before booking?
Yes. Recheck the rewards cost, dates, cabin or room, taxes and fees, availability and other relevant conditions on the loyalty partner’s current redemption page before confirming.

Continue Your AI Travel Workflow
Save This Before Your Next Award Search
Points and miles searches are easiest when you already know the workflow. Save this guide for your next trip, or send it to someone who keeps jumping between airline and hotel rewards sites trying to find usable award options.
Is Google AI Mode Good for Finding Award Travel?
It is a promising discovery tool when your rewards program is supported. The biggest advantage is conversational searching: you can combine a route or hotel stay with dates, schedule preferences, location requirements and the loyalty currency you already have, then refine the results through follow-up questions.
It is not yet a replacement for every airline or hotel rewards website. Partner coverage remains limited, award availability can change, and the final redemption still belongs with the loyalty partner.
The most reliable workflow is simple: search in AI Mode → refine the trip → review the points or miles rate → open the partner → verify everything → redeem.
